Own your tape. Own your scene. Book the job.

Need help prepping for an audition, self-tape or first rehearsal? Don’t wing it.

Send me the sides and I’ll have read them before we start — every character’s journey worked out — so we go straight to the most powerful and effective choices for you.

A one-to-one self-tape session

A one-to-one with Alina

Sound familiar?

  • The tape’s due tomorrow and you don’t know what to do first.
  • You’ve got the sides, you’ve got an idea, and you’ve circled it for three days.
  • You have to do something you’ve never experienced — and make it real by Thursday.
  • You booked the job. Now you have to be ready on the day.

Harrison Booth — “Got the job. And the same casting directors keep coming back with more auditions.”

What happens in the session

Come to work ready to work.

Just like in class — I’ll want to see your version first.

Then we cover: bottom-lining your objectives; getting you totally connected to who it is you need it from — substitution; every one of your inner objects and inner work, incredibly specific — greatness is in the details; then your inner monologue.

Unlike in class, all the attention is on you. If you’re giving birth, dealing with a gunshot wound, drunk, high, killing or raping someone — anything heightened and difficult, we go over and embed so you can really go there. In a fun and healthy way, no matter the time limit.

I can read in, tape you, tape with you, and direct while you film. And when you’ve recorded it, send me the tape — I’ll come back with notes from a directorial angle before you submit.

Alina — “I did not know how to work that script. I’d happily send this tape to the casting director.”

Sofie Theobald — “I feel more prepared. I’m ready to do this.”

Auditions & self-tapes

Never used Chubbuck before? Start here.

£100 for two hours. Never been to Chubbuck class? Got a small piece and want to do your best? One to two pages, commercials, day player, cameos. Hour one is the fundamentals of the technique — the core concepts and the exercises you’ll actually use. Hour two puts them straight onto your material.

This is the first session for anyone new to the technique or new to me. Diving straight into your material without the fundamentals won’t get you the best result, and the two hours are discounted for that reason. Leave yourself a night to rehearse before you record. If your piece runs past a page and a half, we may go into extra time to finish it properly — I’ll tell you at the start, not the end.

Already trained with me?

£75 an hour. Seven days, 10am–8pm. £105 an hour for same-day, and after 8pm on Friday for the weekend.

Every booking is held for up to three hours in case we need them. You only pay for time we actually use, in fifteen-minute steps. I often move other clients to make the time to analyse your script — so send everything the moment you have it: the casting email, the breakdown, the sides, any notes from your agent or the director.

Short notice?

Email me with the deadline in the subject line and forward the casting email with everything attached.

Tom Panto — “I’ve never had feedback like this before.”

The Two-Day Tape

Build it. Then film it.

For a tape that matters — a recall, a first lead, a casting director you’ve been trying to reach. We build the performance first, and the tape is what comes out of it.

  1. Day one — Zoom, up to two hours.Your sides through the first five steps, and beyond if time allows. You leave with a script that tells you exactly what to do, and exact homework.
  2. Overnight.You rehearse it.
  3. Day two — filming, with me directing. As many takes as the work needs. I choose your strongest takes, and you can bring a laptop and upload with me before you leave.

We film on your phone, as you normally would — so whoever’s watching doesn’t know you’ve paid for help. It looks like you did it yourself. Because you did.

I had a connection with the text that I hadn’t felt before. It just flew naturally.

Almudena Iglesias
One scene£295
Two scenes£360

£45 secures the date; the remainder in full, or in three with Klarna. Send me the sides before you book and I’ll confirm which you need. The address comes with your confirmed date.

Book it the day the sides land — day one needs to happen at least two days before you submit.

Not got a tape, but want new footage on your Spotlight?

Same two days. Day one on Zoom, day two on camera — on a piece chosen for you, so the footage shows what you can do now, not what you could do three years ago.

Hazal — “I can see my hard work playing out. I feel much more confident in my craft — and I’m having so much fun.”

Job Prep

You booked it.

Full script? Short film, play, TV episode or feature. I analyse the journey of every character before we begin, so you have the strongest choices for every scene, and you arrive at rehearsals or on set knowing exactly what you’re doing.

Ten hours across the whole script — £640. Booked by the hour that would be £750. Reading fee included. £45 secures your place; the remainder in full, or in three with Klarna.

Sessions run up to three hours at a time, across as many weeks as your schedule needs — most jobs are done within six. A one-act play or a full episode is usually doable in ten hours. If the script needs more, add hours at the same rate. In my experience, we always want more.

On set. Once I’ve coached you, you get a number to WhatsApp me with emergency last-minute changes. If you’re struggling on set and production are happy to have me there — which you and your agent will need to arrange — I can coach directly from monitor village. There’s a hierarchy on set, and I’ll be at the bottom of it on the day. That’s the job.

Sunny prepped his first lead role here — thirteen and a half hours across the script, and on set knowing every scene.

Sunny Sanghera — ten hours across the whole script, preparing his first lead role.

Rahima Delvero — preparing Lady Macbeth.

Straight answers

How quickly can you see me?

As soon as I can — but I need time with the text first, because that’s what makes the session worth the money. Email me with the deadline in the subject line and forward the casting email with everything attached.

I’ve never done this before and my tape’s due Thursday.

Book the £100 two-hour session. We move quickly through the core concepts and the fundamental exercises, then put them onto your material. Leave yourself a night to rehearse before you record.

What do you need from me?

Everything: the breakdown, the sides or full script, and any notes from your agent, the casting director or the director. Without the material in advance, I can’t prepare, and the session becomes an expensive read-through.

Can you tape me?

Yes. I read in, tape with you, and direct while you film — same hourly rate.

Can you just film me, without the coaching?

No. Always with coaching.

Can we do it in person?

Ask. Sessions at my home are a minimum of two hours.

The material is dark or heavy.

That’s a large part of what I do. We find what’s at stake, make it personal, and set you up so you can let go safely and play — and put it down afterwards.

What if I need longer than I booked?

Every booking is held for up to three hours. Extra time is charged in fifteen-minute steps, and I’ll flag it during the session, not after.

What if I have to cancel?

No-shows and late cancellations forfeit the session. Genuine life problems are respected and rescheduled if you tell me early.
